How does the Cutera® Titan™ work?
Titan utilizes a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. This heating can cause immediate collagen contraction resulting in tighter skin. During the procedure, the skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan hand piece. After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening with the improvement of lax skin, folds and lines.

When will I see results?

What do treatments feel like?
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever before hand. Many patients are comfortable without anything. Your physician will advise you.
Has the Titan been tested and approved?
The Titan has been carefully studied in clinics around the world. It is cleared for the treatment of wrinkles in Europe and for general dermatological use in Canada. In the US, it is cleared for topical heating to increase local tissue temperatures and circulation. An additional 510(k) clearance is pending in the US for the treatment of wrinkles.

Is it true that I’ll need to arrive an hour early to apply a numbing cream?
No. Unlike other systems, the Solar Genesis treatment requires no anesthetic creams or gels before treatment. Gel is messy, time consuming, and uncomfortable. Solar Genesis therapy is the next generation in pulsed light treatments. No gel!
What do treatments feel like?
When the hand piece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation.
How long will the treatment take?
The actual treatment will only take a few minutes. And, since there is no need to apply gel or any topical anesthetic, your total appointment time can easily fit into your lunch hour.
